The second decent snow event of the season brought a widespread 1″ to 3″ snow to the area. A few spots managed to just inch above 3″ too. It was an extremely dry powdery snow sticking efficiently upon falling. Now bitter cold sets in with this fresh snowpack.

Now temperatures take the overnight plunge. It will feel like it’s -6 to -11 with just a very light breeze in the morning.
The overall pattern will relax over the weekend and especially as we enter next week. All signs point toward going above normal for a stretch of days with temperatures.
If traveling into the Southeast, Carolinas or even parts of the Mid Atlantic Friday and Saturday, winter weather will be making a mess of things with roads and airports. Advisories and Warnings are in effect for much of this region as rain, freezing rain, sleet and heavy snow are all in the forecast mix!
