Teachman’s Take: Rain, Wind and Warmth Today

We have a line of t-showers sliding in from the west.  The heaviest will track north of I-70 through this morning.  A brief downpour is possible.  There could even be some sleet mixing in across northwest Missouri, closer to the MO/IA state line.

This line of showers will be long gone by lunch.

We’ve been extremely mild this morning in the 40s and 50s.

Temps will stay near 50 through this afternoon.  Sunshine is also expected to break free.  The winds will be strong, gusting above 30 MPH through early evening.

We’ll have to watch Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.  We may have some freezing drizzle.  The moisture looks limited.  Isolated slick spots can’t be ruled out especially for bridges and overpasses.

Then comes the weekend.  Late Friday through Monday, looks like it could be a mess for the StormTrack 5 viewing area.  All forms of wintry weather are likely — including freezing rain and sleet.

Take care,
