Teachman’s Take: Cooler Start To The Week

Mostly cloudy skies are expected all day.  Temps this morning are below freezing near 30.

I’m watching an area of rain/sleet & snow to our west.  This will travel east as the morning goes on and arrive in the metro near 10 AM.

It should be mostly in the form of rain, but a few sleet pellets are possible.  The high will be in the upper 40s this afternoon, which is above the norm for this time of year.  Winds won’t be a concern today as they’re light from the south/southeast at 5 to 10 MPH.  There could still be a lingering sprinkle/shower for the evening commute.

Clouds clear by Valentine’s Day and temperatures rebound into the middle 50s.  We’re setting up for a long stretch of dry weather.  The next noticeable storm that could give us rain won’t arrive until next Monday.  Highs will be a touch cooler on Wednesday in the middle 40s.  And then get ready for another surge of spring-like air!  Highs Thursday through Sunday will be in the 60s.  We could easily see some parts of the StormTrack 5 area hit 70 over the weekend!

Take care,
