Temperatures will make it into the record books today. The old record is 73 from 1982. We’ll hit a high of 79! Mostly sunny with increasing winds.
As the humidity drops, the threat for quick spreading grass fires becomes a concern.
Changes are brewing for Thursday. We could see a few showers or isolated t-storms late morning and through early afternoon. It won’t last all day and should track just to the north of the metro.
Highs will be in the upper 60s. By Friday, temperatures will be dropping back into the 30s and 40s. There could be a little light snow north of 36 Highway, but trends continue to put the majority of the moisture in Iowa.
Heading into the weekend, more seasonable air with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. Skies are unsettled late Sunday through next Wednesday. Sunday, I can’t rule out a few flakes mixing in with some rain showers.
