Teachman’s Take: Warmer Winds, Eventually!
Lots of chilly sunshine to jump start the day that will require you to grab the heavy coat. Temps first step out the door will be in the middle 20s. Winds pick up this afternoon and gust to 30 which will lead to a heightened fire danger. This afternoon, it will be above the norm at 57. While the day will have lots of sunshine, there will be a few clouds passing through at times.
Even stronger winds are coming Saturday with highs near 70. Our fire threat will get worse! Going into Sunday, clouds will return and there’s a slight chance for a passing shower late in the day as moisture increases. But, the majority of us will miss out on this opportunity. Highs will be in the upper 60s. Any rainfall for us comes in late in the day Monday and into Tuesday morning. I think the Missouri side has a better shot of seeing the rain than the Kansas side right now, unfortunately. Temps will be near record highs on Monday and drop into the 50s by Tuesday. The heat will fight back by Friday in the 60s.
