Teachman’s Take: Warm Today, Strong Storms Tomorrow

The few sprinkles/showers we’ve had around this morning are moving out!

Soon the clouds will break and temps will soar.  Winds will be gusty today with temperatures topping out in the lower 70s.  Gusts over 30 MPH are possible through this afternoon.  There is a heightened fire threat for today.

A strong storm system is still on the way for Friday.  The track of this is a little farther north than previous days.  I see two areas of strong storms.  The first will develop after lunch to the east of Kansas City.  This is where gusty winds and large hail will be possible.

Then there will be the next area to watch around the state line, including the metro.  They will develop shortly after 4 PM.

If trends continue, then all forms of severe weather will be possible.

And I can see the SLIGHT RISK in yellow brought father north to include KC.

After sundown our severe threat will drop as the storms move east.  Highs for Friday are in the lower 70s.

The back side of this system will produce showers & thunderstorms Saturday morning and into the afternoon.  By evening, rain will move east.  Sunday we’ll get a break with sunshine and warm temps near 70.  More rain is likely Monday with highs falling back into the middle 60s.  Partly Cloudy Tuesday through Wednesday with another shot for showers by Thursday.  Highs Tuesday through next Thursday will be mild in the upper 60s.

Take care,

Teach
