Williams’s Wrap: Timing Of Sunday Evening Storms

An approaching cold front will keep our skies mostly cloudy Sunday. We’ll stay dry during most of the day with warm highs in the mid/upper 70s and strong winds gusting to 35mph. As we get closer to the evening, the chance for storms will increase. The Slight Risk has moved a bit farther east to include more of eastern KS and Kansas City.

Around 7pm is when the viewing area could see the first signs of development, mainly favoring NEKS and NWMO.

After 12am, possible showers/storms will then shift to areas along and south of I-70. Hail and strong winds continue to be the main threats should a stronger/severe storm develop. By early Monday morning, a leftover shower/storm is possible in our southeastern counties, but Kansas City and much of the area will be in the clear as the work week gets started.
