Amble’s Ramble
April 20, 2017

Have your jacket ready to go this evening and leave it within arms reach when you’re ready to leave the house Friday morning. Cool air will settle in overnight sending the low into the middle 40s by morning. Friday will have more of a March feel to it with mostly overcast skies and a rain chance arriving late in the day. A blustery wind out of the northeast will hold the afternoon high in the 50s.

Next Day

Not everyone will have to deal with rain on Friday in fact very few who live north of I-70 will have to worry about rain gear. Showers will work in from the southwest and barely touch real estate north of the interstate. This will show about the most northern extent of the rain on Friday.

This will not be a whopper of a rain either with most areas picking up less than 1/4″. If you are itching to get in your garden this minuscule amount of moisture shouldn’t impact your desire to get your hands dirty especially by Sunday afternoon.

Looking deep into the forecast pages I don’t see a chance for a hard freeze over the next ten days. That will put us into May so at this time it looks safe to do some early planting. I’ll take a close look at your planting forecast early next week.
