Teachman’s Take: Tuesday’s Strong Storm Chance

Showers have moved out of our area for this morning.  Expect to see more clouds than sunshine today.  Winds won’t be as strong, but still breezy this afternoon with gusts up to 25 MPH.  By lunch, temps will approach 70.  This afternoon, we’re running for the middle 70s!

When it comes to thunderstorm development, areas along I-35 and points to the south/southeast will be in the prime lineup any time after 6 PM.  Storms approach downtown KC around 8 PM.  Most of our viewing area should be finished with these stronger storms by midnight, at the latest.

A storm or two could produce large hail and/or gusty winds.  The Slight Risk for today has been inched farther north to now include the metro:

Showers and thunderstorms are likely into the Wednesday AM commute.  There could be a few pockets of heavier rain.  But, we’ll see the trend start to dwindle as we get closer to dawn.  Temps will be significantly cooler in the middle 50s.

Most of Thursday looks dry with rain returning early Friday.  Over the weekend, Saturday still looks wet for the majority of the day.  The rain will taper early Sunday with the afternoon/evening looking dry.  Temps over the weekend will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.  Sunshine returns next Monday with highs back into the 60s and eventually 70s by Tuesday.

Take care,

Teach
