Teachman’s Take: Another Toasty One

Most of the day will be dry with temperatures turning toasty again!  Mostly sunny and hot this afternoon.  Highs will be in the middle 80s as skies become partly cloudy.  Winds will be lighter today from the southwest at 5 to 10 MPH.  Showers & storms will begin to develop near midnight for areas close to the MO/IA state line (Tarkio to Maryville to Grant City).  There’s a slim chance one or two storms could contain small hail.

While showers & storms will be ongoing early Wednesday morning along the MO/IA state line, there will be another area southwest near Emporia that blossoms.  It will push into the metro between 7 and 9 AM.  This rain will depart most areas by the lunch hour.

Not expecting anything severe, but an isolated storm that contains small hail, brief gusty winds and lots of lightning cannot be ruled out.

Rain becomes steadier for Thursday morning.  This rain will linger for a decent part of the day and taper by Thursday night.

Up to an inch of rain is possible.  There could even be some pockets up to 2″.

Sunshine returns Friday through the weekend with highs in the 70s.  Early next week, there are a couple of chances for storms Monday and Tuesday.  Temps will be near 80.

Take care,

Teach
