The main weather feature of interest is a weakening upper low that will move into the Plains Tuesday and run into quite a bit of resistance in the form of very dry air that is anchored in place. What should continue to be an impressive zone of showers and storms across Nebraska into central Kansas will find it difficult to move into our area over the next one to two days. That said, I do expect a few showers, sprinkles or even a weak thunderstorm to manage to clip our area Tuesday into Wednesday.
The best chance of rain will in fact be our western third of counties. As you travel east into central Missouri, dry air that is in place will likely make it extremely difficult for rain to move in.
Here are some forecast images to give you some idea on cloudiness and rain chances ahead….
Temperatures start in the lower to mid 50s Tuesday then warm into the lower to mid 70s. In the days ahead, we’ll see a gradual warm up to near 80 or so each day which is about 5 to 6 degrees above average for this time of the year. This great stretch of weather will take us through the upcoming weekend forecast into early next week.
